Evoke 2025 – Showcasing the Future of IoT Innovation

On 2nd August 2025, Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (Autonomous), Kothamangalam transformed into a vibrant hub of innovation and creativity with the successful hosting of Evoke 2025. Organized by the MACE IoT Club in collaboration with IEDC MACE, and proudly sponsored by Seeed Studio, the event was a one-of-a-kind hardware expo dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) and emerging technologies.

The expo drew participation from 40 talented teams representing engineering institutions across Kerala. Each team brought forth their most innovative and impactful hardware solutions, making Evoke not just a platform for competition, but a true celebration of student-led innovation.

A Platform for Innovation, Collaboration, and Impact

Unlike traditional contests, Evoke 2025 was designed as a showcase and collaborative platform where participants could proudly demonstrate their work, exchange knowledge, and explore how IoT can address pressing real-world challenges.

From healthcare solutions to agricultural innovations and smart automation systems, the expo floor was alive with interactive demos, passionate explanations, and the excitement of young innovators eager to share their vision with peers, faculty, and industry professionals.

The journey to Evoke was kickstarted by OHM (Oh My Bug), a lively pre-event aimed at sparking curiosity and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging format. OHM set the stage perfectly, ensuring participants entered Evoke with sharpened ideas and high enthusiasm.

A Day of Showcasing Ideas

The event began with an inaugural ceremony, graced by Dr. Bos Mathew Jos, Principal of MACE, as the chief guest.

As the exhibition unfolded, visitors had the opportunity to experience a wide spectrum of IoT applications. A panel of judges visited each stall, engaging directly with participants to better understand their concepts, feasibility, and execution.

Celebrating Outstanding Innovations

While Evoke 2025 primarily focused on collaboration and knowledge exchange, the most remarkable projects were recognized for their innovation and impact:

  • 🥇 First Prize: Team FLEXCORE (Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering & Technology, Kalady) – Gamified Joint Rehabilitation
  • 🥈 Second Prize: Team Delta Automations (College of Engineering, Trivandrum) – Farm Ranger
  • 🥉 Third Prize: Team Tech Titans (Government Engineering College Barton Hill, Trivandrum) – Gestalk

The closing ceremony was filled with energy and pride as students celebrated their achievements and reflected on the day’s learnings.

A Celebration of Student-led Hardware Development

Evoke 2025 proved to be much more than an exhibition — it was a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. The event left participants inspired to refine their ideas and motivated visitors to explore IoT-based innovations in their own journeys.

With industry support from Seeed Studio, enthusiastic student participation, and a spirit of collaboration, Evoke 2025 has set a strong foundation for even greater editions in the years to come.
