SeeedStudio at NIT Sparkathon 2025: Where Technology Speaks Emotion
Fueling Tinkerers. Accelerating Innovation
Innovation thrives when creativity meets the right tools, mentorship, and vision. At the Hackathon, hosted in Northern Institute of Technology Management in 10th October 2025, SeeedStudio & Ranger was proud to sponsor, support and mentor a new generation of builders who pushed the boundaries of hardware, software, and human-centered design.
Over two intense days, participants collaborated, experimented, and transformed ideas into working prototypes—demonstrating not just technical excellence, but also empathy-driven problem solving. From late-night debugging sessions to breakthrough moments, the energy across the venue was truly inspiring.

Celebrating the Winning Team: Bravo (Beta)
We are thrilled to congratulate Team Bravo (Beta), the winners of NIT Sparkathon, for their outstanding project “Amber.”

🏆 Project Amber – The Physical Heartbeat
In an increasingly remote and digital-first world, Amber addresses a deeply human problem: the absence of physical presence and emotional reassurance between loved ones.
The Problem
When distance separates us from family and friends, communication often becomes noisy or overwhelming—texts, calls, and notifications can lose their emotional warmth.
The Challenge
Amber introduces a beautifully simple, two-device system:
- A user taps their device.
- The signal travels instantly over the internet.
- The paired device responds with a single, gentle haptic pulse.
No words. No screens. Just a quiet, meaningful message that says:
“I’m thinking of you.”
To respect personal space, the system integrates a physical DND (Do Not Disturb) switch, allowing users to pause incoming pulses whenever needed.
Key Features
- Ultra-low latency communication using MQTT or WebSockets
- Physical DND switch integration to control connectivity
- Distinct single-pulse haptic feedback, designed to feel personal and intentional
Projects like Amber reflect exactly what we aim to empower—innovations that blend hardware and software to solve real-world problems with elegance and care.
Looking Ahead
The Sparkathon showcased incredible talent, collaboration, and creativity across all teams. We’re proud to have been part of this journey and to support builders who are shaping the future of connected devices and human-centered innovation.
To all participants, mentors, and organizers—thank you for an unforgettable experience!
And once again, congratulations to Team Bravo (Beta) for setting a new benchmark in meaningful innovation.

This is a beautiful example of how technology can move beyond functionality and truly connect with human emotion. Project Amber shows that IoT doesn’t always need screens or complex interfaces to be impactful. The simplicity of a single haptic pulse makes the message feel more intentional and deeply personal.
