Introduction to AI Agent Workshop: Wireflow – Where IOT meets Automation

On June 6, 2026, I was invited by the students of Universitas Raharja to conduct a workshop on using n8n with hardware. This workshop was a continuation of a previous seminar held in December 2025.
Although the event was originally planned as a two-session workshop, technical difficulties forced us to cram it into a single-day session. My main goal for the workshop was to demonstrate how an AI agent can connect to any kind of hardware. As a practical example of how easily anyone can harvest sensor data and forward it to a spreadsheet, I used a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3 connected to a DHT11 sensor. In this setup, n8n served as the bridge connecting the sensor data to external services—using a Google Sheet as the primary example.
To kick things off, I started the workshop by introducing Seeed Studio to the participants, highlighting their latest product updates..

After the introduction to Seeed Studio, I delivered my presentation before moving into the hands-on portion.

The hands-on session itself ran smoothly, with only one minor issue: time. Because of our limited schedule, we had asked the participants ahead of time to install a few pieces of proprietary software before the day of the workshop. Unfortunately, many of them had not done so yet, which consumed a significant amount of our hands-on time.

Ultimately, squeezing the content into a single day was a challenge, but seeing the participants successfully connect their XIAO nodes to the cloud made every minute worth it. A huge thank you to Universitas Raharja for the invitation and Seeed Studio for always supporting our event!
