Description

The Demo Badge is an IoT educational learning platform that demonstrates a fully integrated connected product designed by Thomas Kriechbaumer, Senior Solution Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This Demo Badge is created specifically for IOT202 Building compliant, secure connected products with AWS IoT Workshop at re:Invent 2023, and aim to be used in further AWS-workshop events. Developer or enthusiasts should be able to get a good understanding of the AWS IoT services, including AWS IoT Core, AWS IoT ExpressLink, Amazon Sidewalk and how to integrate them into your connected product via the Workshop.

You can imagine different classes of products that use the same building blocks as the Demo Badge: toys, kitchen appliances, vacuum robots, etc. all follow a similar architecture by using a central microcontroller to connect buttons, LEDs, a display, and a connectivity module.

The main components of the Demo Badge are labeled so you can easily identify each component. Supporting circuitry and parts are not labelled and not relevant for this workshop. During this workshop, you will interact with the Demo Badge, and its integrated connectivity modules, through software, button presses, animated blinking LEDs, rendering content to the display, and reading and manipulating sensors.

All content, material, and source code is available on the GitHub - aws-samples/aws-iot-connected-product-demo-badge

It also contains a link back to the workshop page and its instructions.
