Motor Shield V2.0 is a motor driver which can directly switch on many Arduino boards, such as Arduino Uno, Arduino Mega. It carries a Motor Driver chip L298 which is widely used in most motor drivers.

The Motor Shield is a driver module for motors that allows you to use Arduino to control the working speed and direction of the motor. Based on the Dual Full-Bridge Drive Chip L298, it is able to drive two DC motors or a step motor. The Motor Shield can either be powered directly by Arduino or by an external 5V~15V power supply via the DC jack. This module can be used for the development of microrobots and intelligent vehicles, etc.
The defined pins are D8~D13 on the Arduino/Seeeduino board. D8, D11, D12, D13 are 4 output pins for controlling the speed or the direction of the motor. D9, D10 are enabled pins for two channels of the Motor Shield. So mostly you would use these 6 pins for your motor control, and you are able to drive at most two motors from one shield.
The Motor Shield is compatible with many boards, for more details, please click the picture below.

Built around the dual full-bridge drive chip L298
What I am posting came about as an investigation into how to control motors individually with the Seeedstudio 2.0 motor shield after seeing a question on the forums asking how to do so.
I originally thought I was going to have to do something fancy to
Wiki of Motor Shield V2.0
hey i gotta dum question i accidently bought this motor shield and i realised this wont meet the current requirements so it possible if i can connect with a mosfet then to my motors ?
Theoretically, you probably could with enough external circuitry (and/or perhaps removing the L298), but it wouldn't be a very productive use of the board. You need to get a friend interested in the Arduino and sell him/her your board :-)Alterna
Can this be used with the blend v1.0? Thanks.
Yes, it can be used on Blend V1.0
Which pin on Grove Base Shield has been used for Motor Shield?
D8 to D13 have been used for motor shield.
Would this be able to function while stacked on top of the Seeedstudio NFC 2.0 shield? Would I be able to drive 2 DC motors while using the NFC reader?
D8 to D13 have been used for motor shield v2, so if you wanna use NFC v2, you can refer to Motor shield v1.
Motor Shield V2.0 dont really work with Seeeduino lite I upload the example code to the seeeduino lite but the stepper motor only jerks a little bit. I tried with 3 different seeeduinos lite... always same problem. With an Arduino Uno the shield works
I am having the very same issues, several different motors, all the same issues. It would be nice if the were a wiring diagram somewhere. I cannot seem to find one anywhere. (Free, that is)
Can you stack 2 Motor Shields V2.0 on top of each other? If yes, how do you chose which I/O pins control which motor?
Can you also stack a Grove shield on top of the two motor shields? If yes, I assume, one a limited number of Grove connectors on
Hi guys, thanks for sharing your ideas and suggestions to us, problems like stackability, way of communication will be collected by engineers, and we would try to solve it in the next version. By the way, you can also leave your wish to the Wish Board(
Motor works fine using the demo code. However, I cannot stop one motor by using the function stop.
how to stop the motor properly using using SeeedStudio Motor Shield V2?Motor can be stopped when the function motordriver.setSp
Maybe you have got a older version, but this version Now is compatible with Due. I don't know what the version of your board, but if it the version 1.0, it works with Due.
Is it possible to use this Motor Shield with the Ethernet Shield V2.2?
I have a test and the button can work well, if you have any question about order please click the bottom of Feedback&Support and drop a line to our customer service. Sorry for that inconveniences and Good luck.
Can I stack a arduino usb host shield on this?
Yes, we have it, please visit this website: http://www.seeedstudio.com/dep...
Can this shield be use with the Raspberry Pi B+?
Okay, thank you for your feedback. Since this shield is only designed for Mega before DUE released, it may be not compatible with DUE .
This is defiantly a question of inexperience but I have been trying to figure this shield out and just cant seem to do it. I have an Arduino mega and I have the library installed. I am powering the shield and the Arduino with a 9.6 volt 700 mAh battery
I am having the same issue as Gabe for a similar project with an RC car. The motor shield is only sending 4 volts out of the outputs, though it claims to have the capacity to send anywhere up to 15 volts. I can't find any code samples or information
will this shield work on an arduino Yun ?
Yes it is.
YES ! The wiki can hlep you
Hi, the suggest input voltage is 6-15V. Even the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS of 78M05 is 25V. The 78M05 is high possibility to be burned with 24V. thanks.
