The countdown to SenSys 2023 has begun, and we’re eagerly anticipating an event filled with innovative workshops, tutorials, and hands-on experiences. We are thrilled to announce Seeed Studio’s participation in this event, where we will be sponsoring Wio Tracker 1110 Dev Kits, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of innovation and learning.
ACM SenSys 2023, organized by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, is the 21st ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems, and it introduces a highly selective, single-track platform for researching system issues related to sensors and broadly defined sensor-enabled smart systems. Smart sensor systems have the potential to transform a wide range of application areas by offering a high density of instrumentation. However, they also pose various system challenges due to limitations in resources, uncertainty, irregularity, mobility, and scale. This conference offers an ideal opportunity to address research challenges in the design, development, deployment, use, and fundamental limits of these systems.
As part of our commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the SenSys community, Seeed Studio is honored to sponsor 20 Wio Tracker 1110 Dev Kits for this event. These dev kits are versatile, powerful, and perfect for creating IoT solutions and sensor networks.
The Wio Tracker 1110 development kit is a user-friendly, LoRa-based tracking development platform. With its compact size and rich interfaces, it is conveniently equipped with an onboard branded antenna for easy deployment. It supports the Arduino IDE and LoRaWAN protocol stack, making it an ideal choice for building proofs of concept (PoCs) for tracking and monitoring-based IoT projects. At the price of just $29.9, it’s an affordable solution that empowers innovation. You can learn more about the Wio Tracker 1110 from our wiki.
Get Hands-On Experience
At SenSys, participants will have the unique opportunity to get hands-on with these dev kits in the Anatomy of a Sensor and LoRaWAN Tutorial. Attendees will be able to dive into practical sessions, exploring the components of a sensor along with LoRaWAN.
Scheduled on Sunday, November 12, the Anatomy of a Sensor and LoRaWAN Tutorial will provide an introduction to sensors and LoRaWAN technologies. Curated and designed by Rasit Eskicioglu, Associate Professor at University of Manitoba, and Reha Yurdakul, Guest Lecturer at Bilkent Universitythe tutorial covers fundamental design principles and presenting a solution architecture for a sensor network that utilizes the LoRaWAN communication platform. The tutorial will be divided into two parts:
Part I – Theory
- Components of a sensor device
- General architecture of a sensor network
- Design considerations
- Communication alternatives for sensor devices
- Introduction to LoRaWAN
- A case study
Part II – Hands-On
- Set up a sensor device
- Integrate the sensor into a LoRaWAN network
- Monitor sensor data
- Engage in LoRaWAN activities
- Observe the system through a user interface
