📚 I. In-depth Feature & Tech Exploration
01. AI Gun Detection Solution for Real-Time Edge Alerts
The Frigate + Node-RED Gun Detection Solution is an edge AI video analytics stack that detects firearms in live camera streams and orchestrates alerting, review, and integrations. Built for privacy-preserving, low‑latency deployments on AI Boxes, the NVIDIA Jetson series and reComputer R2000, it combines an optimized detection engine (Frigate) with a visual automation layer (Node‑RED) and optional LLM‑assisted review.
02. MCP Integration in SenseCAP Watcher
The MCP Endpoint (Model Context Protocol Endpoint) documentation introduces its functionality in SenseCAP Watcher, explaining its role in AI systems, configuration methods, and usage examples to help developers quickly integrate and manage custom MCP services. Additionally, we’ve updated Extending Grove with MCP, which demonstrates how to connect Grove sensors to AI systems through MCP for more flexible data interaction and application development.
03. EE04 ePaper Display Work with ESPHome for Home Assistant
This document is a detailed tutorial on integrating the EE04 ePaper Display with ESPHome to create a smart home control panel in Home Assistant. It covers hardware preparation, firmware setup, and data display such as weather information. The guide also provides examples of configuring the SPI interface, fonts, graphics, and data retrieval from Home Assistant using YAML files.
04. Efficient Multi-Task Vision Inference Engine Deployment on Jetson
Visual Perception Engine is a cutting-edge framework that revolutionizes robotic perception by eliminating redundant computations through shared backbone networks. Unlike traditional approaches where each visual task runs independently, VPEngine uses a unified base model backbone (e.g., DINOv2) to extract image features only once, which are then reused by multiple task heads. This approach significantly reduces memory overhead and CPU-GPU data transfer while supporting dynamic task scheduling and seamless ROS2 integration. This wiki will show you how to use reComputer Robotics in conjunction with GMSL cameras to deploy the Visual Perception Engine to the edge.
05. Flashing AI Models on the SenseCAP Watcher
This guide focuses on how to flash the SenseCAP Watcher with the Visual Recognition Triggered Conversation firmware and how to replace or update the AI model on the device. It is intended as a hands-on instructional guide for these operations.
This wiki demonstrates VLM deployment on reComputer Industrial J4012 with USB camera. An RS485 signal light indicates safety status: green for safe, yellow for hazards like fire or weapons, red when warehouse lights are off.
07. Turn Your reComputer into a Smart NVR System with Moonfire-NVR!
08. Robotics J501 Carrier Board Hardware and Getting Started
The reComputer Robotics J501 Mini is a compact, high-performance edge AI carrier board designed for advanced robotics. Compatible with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin modules (32GB/64GB) in MAXN mode, it delivers up to 275 TOPS of AI performance.
Seeed Studio XIAO Debug Mate is an open-source ESP32-S3 multi-tool that simplifies embedded system debugging with visual feedback. This all-in-one device features a standalone 2.01 inch TFT LCD display, LED status matrix, and native Seeed Studio XIAO support, delivering essential debugging functions.
10. FashionStar Servo Motors Documents Hub
11. How to run real-time, on-device face recognition
This wiki will guide you through using a reComputer equipped with a Hailo NPU to implement real-time facial recognition. In this project, we use SCRFD-10G for efficient face detection, capable of quickly and accurately detecting faces of various scales, including small faces, ensuring real-time performance.
Devices often need to support both battery power and external charger power. While this dual-power structure is convenient, improper handling can lead to backfeeding—where current flows backward from the XIAO’s USB port into the external power source or even the main control circuitry, potentially causing damage.

#Notes
If you’re new to this session, here is a brief intro. We have gotten dozens of requests over the years for a Seeed Monthly Newsletter. Although we already have a newsletter for weekly updates, we still need a place to host overall information about what’s happened on a monthly basis. It can offer an efficient and friendly way to get updated for the whole community. And that’s what we expect for our Seeed Monthly Wrap-ups. Instead of putting it as a subscribe-to-read format, we’re publishing them on our blog, so as to keep it as open and accessible as possible for the whole community. For each entry, we will cover awesome projects from the community, campaigns that we are running, new products, IIoT Solutions, and even secret recipes for prototyping and manufacturing.
