RePhone Kit Featured in the Museum for Communication Frankfurt

Last night, we got some surprise from our friend Xiao Yi, who used to work at Seeed and now is traveling in German!

Our RePhone Kit has been featured in a collection along with Nokia in Museum für Kommunikation Frankfurt, the Museum for Communication where collects facts of human communications! And here are some photos shared by Xiao Yi (Thanks for sharing).

“Rephone Kit, Seeed Studio, 2015
This self-build kit for individualists comes from the Chinese manufacturer Seeed. The housing is mad from robust kraft paper, which enables the smartphone to be worn as an armband or a pendant. The modules can be easily replaced or extended, so the telephone can be used for years.”

RePhone Kit Create is an open source modular phone kit that changes the way we put our phone into use. It provides a new form of phone customization and the easiest solution to wearable/IoT development. With the kit, it’s easy to create a phone in minutes, by using the slim MODULES, accessible SOFTWARE, and customizable Phone Enclosures, and also t0 hack things around you, giving inanimate objects the power of cellular communication, having conversations with pets, plants, toys, motorcycle helmets, robots, or drones through cellular connectivity.

When Xiao Yi worked at Seeed, she was part of the team which covers the development of the RePhone series. She was super excited when she saw the kit exhibit in a museum that she visited, and so she took the pictures and shared with us.

What a lovely surprise! And it also proves that electronics could be art!
