Top Applications of XIAO in 2025
Based on community projects, tutorials, and real-world deployments, Seeed Studio XIAO was most commonly used in the following application areas in 2025. These categories reflect how developers moved from experiments toward practical, product-like builds.
1. Smart Home (Home Assistant / ESPHome)
Localized, producible sensors, relays, and gateways designed to work without cloud dependency. Many projects emphasized reliability, privacy, and easy integration into existing smart home setups.
In 2025, developers commonly used XIAO ESP32-C6 for Zigbee, Thread, and Matter-enabled devices, while XIAO ESP32-C3 remained a popular choice for simple Wi-Fi sensors and ESPHome nodes. Typical examples include temperature and humidity sensors, motion detectors, custom relays, and locally controlled Home Assistant devices.
