The ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0 is a hardware-based solution for creating or adding voice-interface to your projects. The board is a far-field microphone array device capable of detecting voices up to 5m away even with the presence of background noise. The onboard hardware-enabled algorithms are powered by the XMOS XVF-3000.


Several improvements have been made since the original ReSpeaker Mic Array v1.0. The first thing you may notice is the reduction of microphones. With the improved performance of the XMOS XVF-3000, including the improved full duplex AEC, we’ve been able to deliver increased performance with fewer microphones, and thus a lower cost.

What do I need to make an audio recorder? Just the mic array or do you need the core as well? What are their different functions? Thanks.

Hi Andrew~ The mic array need a upper computer (such as Raspberry), it only can pick up audio. The core can work as a recorder, you can consider the core as the array + Raspberry. Regards

So in your demos where it separated the audio from the background noise, was that done on the V2 array or was that done on a separate computer? I need clean processed audio to come out of that jack on the array, is that what it does?

I use the ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0 in my intelligent speaker box,but the voice recognition function is so poor,specially when playing music.I tried Tuning but it didn't work~what can I do?

Thanked your reply:) The truth is, I didn't plug the speaker into the 3.5mm Headphone jack of the mic array,but into the mainboard of my intelligent speaker box. Is that the problem? I'm also confused that when I tested according to the AEC example, the audio of channel 0 was not good and there was still a lot of music :(

Hi there~ For the AEC, The Echo Cancellation Channel is output buy the 3.5mm headjack. So if you do not use the 3.5mm jack, the mic array can not get the echo channel, there for the channel 0 is not good. Regards

Hi,Thanked your reply~I pluged my speaker into the 3.5mm jack,it worked good with PC,but can not play any voice with my speaker box used android 6.0 system.when used tinyplay,it showed Sample rate and Bitrate is not ok.Could you please give me a firmware that support 16bit/44100hz?

Hi,thks,After much effort,now it works well with my andriod system,except voice recognition is invalid when the music voice is a little bit louder,and I saw the new version with fixed gain in github,does it means AGCGAIN? Would it be better for me to use the larger gain version?

We have now three ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0: 1. works for some time with Linux and was death after using it with Win10 2. dead-on-arrival (Win10) 3. works on Linux but we didn't want to try it again with Win10 After using it with my Win10 device (Lenovo, USB 3.0) two boards are now death. What could be the cause?

Is the processing that is shown on here only available if you are using the ReSpeaker's audio output jack? Or will this same processing work if music is played on an external speaker?

yes, in the demo, we used an external speaker to plug into the 3.5mm jack. And it works well.

that is not what was asked.. they asked: if the music is being played say on a Sonos in the room (so not connected to the respeaker at all) will it be the same processing as shown in the demo above wave file samples? Or does the respeaker HAVE to be the device the music is being played through?? I am guessing as the 3.5mm Audio Jack is output only.. your answer is incorrect.. the array has to have the music being played through it, not externally to it to produce the above processed audio demo So the real question is how good is the mic array v2 at filtering out background music/talking and focusing on the voice in the DoA of the wake word ?

Hi there, here are the items we can check. 1. please make sure the usb cable with 4 wires, vcc,gnd, dp, dm. it can transfer data. some usb cable has gnd and vcc only. 2. please connect to windows/mac to see if it can detect the mic array v2.0 3. please drop mail to techsupport@seeed.cc if the issue is not solved. thanks.

Hi there, respeaker mic array v2.0 uses the usb1.0. You can connect it to raspberry pi to extract the audio. It shall support the snips ai. but we do not test it yet. thanks.
