This kit is a versatile solution, tailor-made for those who wish to develop and experiment with their own energy monitoring systems. You can choose from a series of sensors like Light sensor, PIR Motion sensor, Temperature&Humidity sensor, Vision AI sensor, Water Meter sensor, Current sensor and Voltage sensor to bring your energy monitoring concepts to life and shape the future of smart home energy management.

    Description

This bundle empowers you to create your own energy monitoring systems, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as IoT and machine learning.

This bundle provides 4 options of microcontroller that can be employed as the host MCU, including XIAO ESP32C3, XIAO ESP32S3, XIAO ESP32S3 Sense(with OV2640 camera sensor) and Raspberry Pi Pico W, facilitating the connection between various sensors.

Head to this page for a comprehensive introduction of Seeed Studio XIAO Series.

It brings together seven specialized sensors for you to DIY your monitoring system:

Utilize the vision AI sensor for advanced meter digits recognition. This technology has the potential to simplify meter reading processes and enable better monitoring of resources.  Check and download the meter reading model we provided in our Github.

Using a voltage sensor or current sensor to monitor either a whole house's energy consumption or a single appliance. This allows homeowners to track the energy usage of specific devices and identify potential energy-saving opportunities.

Use the digital PIR motion sensor to detect occupancy in different rooms. When no motion is detected for a certain period, the system can automatically turn off lights, adjust thermostat settings, and power down non-essential devices, saving energy.

Use the digital light sensor to measure ambient light levels in a room. Smart lighting systems can then adjust artificial lighting based on natural light conditions, reducing energy consumption when ample daylight is available.

Integrate the relay with the HVAC system to control heating, ventilation, and air conditioning based on data from the temperature, humidity, and CO2 sensor. This ensures that HVAC systems operate efficiently and maintain indoor comfort while minimizing energy waste.

Install water level sensors in tanks or reservoirs to monitor water levels. Smart irrigation systems can use this data to optimize watering schedules, preventing overuse of water resources and reducing energy consumption associated with water pumping.

#ProjectSpotlight: Energy is an integral part of our daily lives, yet having a visual representation of its constant usage could potentially empower us to optimize its utilization. In this project, Christopher Mendez ultilized a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3 and a XIAO Expansion board, made it able to measure voltage, current, active power, power factor, and electrical energy with any microcontroller through UART.

#ProjectSpotlight: In this project, Olaoluwa Raji has created a smart energy monitor that accurately measures and presents voltage (V), current (A), power (W), and energy (kWh) consumption at various locations within a building. The measured data is displayed in real-time on an LCD screen, enabling users to actively monitor their energy usage.
