Seeed Studio Introducing Grove IoT Starter Kits Powered by AWS

Seeed Studio provides accessible open-source hardware and agile manufacturing service for makers to grow inspirations into differentiating products, and announces today at AWS re:Invent 2015 the launch of several Grove IoT Starter Kits Powered by AWS.

“The Grove IoT Starter Kits Powered by AWS have included the necessary building blocks and hardware components for developing connected IoT devices and applications which connects directly to the new AWS IoT service. Given the distinctive features of the development platforms, we have identified four themes of the kits in cooperation with Amazon Web Service (AWS); each of them contains a development board capable of cloud connectivity, and featuring the AWS connected device SDK, sensors, quick start guides and demos.” Explains Joey Jiang, Head of Product Management of Seeed Studio.

• Seeeduino Cloud and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS – Arduino is popular platform among the makers community, and the kit contains a Seeeduino Cloud development board which is fully compatible with Arduino Yun. GROVE is a family of plug and play open-source modules for easy and quick prototyping. The Grove Starter Kit has included most frequently used sensors and actuators to let your ideas move on the cloud of AWS.

• Intel® Edison and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS – Designed for expert makers, entrepreneurs, and industrial IoT companies, the Intel Edison module provides ease-of-development with a fully open source hardware and software development environment. It supports Wi-Fi and BLE 4.0 connectivity. The kit contains 11 selective Grove sensors and actuators for you to detect the indoor environment as well as to create smart home applications.

• Beagle Bone Green and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS – BeagleBone Green (BBG) is a joint effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. It is based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black and has added two Grove connectors. The kit contains the new BBG, 10 Grove modules as well as step-by-step tutorials to hook them up quickly.
  

• LinkIT One and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS – The LinkIt ONE development board is an open source, high performance board for prototyping wearables and IoT devices. It comes with all-in-one feature like ARM7 EJ-S™, GSM, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth BR/EDR/BLE, GPS, Audio codec, and SD card connector on a single development board. The kit enables you to build up connected projects which involve communications for smart cities and transport or logistics use cases.

The four featured kits are available on amazon.com for developers and makers to purchase from today. The Intel® Edison and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS and LinkIT One and Grove IoT Starter Kit Powered by AWS will be displayed onsite at Intel’s and MediaTek’s booths, respectively.
