There are limitless possibilities with the reTerminal. It can be placed at the heart of an IoT/Edge system where you could connect a number of sensors to the reTerminal via different wireless protocols such as LoRa, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sub-1G, and the reTerminal connected to the cloud via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, 5G/ 4G or connected to an edge server to store and process the data.
Modular Design for Expanded Function
As you can see, reTerminal has a modular design where you can expand this system by connecting different modules. You can connect it via industrial high-speed connector on the back or the 40-Pin GPIO connectors on the side, to ebale enable even more applications. reTerminal has a high-speed expansion interface with a PCIe 1-lane Host, Gen 2 (5Gbps), USB 2.0 port, 28 GPIOs, and PoE. You can use this interface for industrial and more advanced scenarios! The official industrial high-speed expansion board, reTerminal E10-1 is coming out, which is fully compatible with the reTerminal where they can be simply connected through the industrial high-speed signal connector, you can refer to here for further information.
reTerminal is packed with rich interfaces on the side of the device while keeping the design to a minimum. It has a USB Type-C port for power input, a Gigabit Ethernet port for faster and reliable network access, a micro-HDMI interface that supports video output at 4K resolution with a frame rate of 60fps, and also has 2 USB Type-A ports.
reTerminal also features a 5-Inch IPS capacitive multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a pixel density of 293 PPI, providing high definition and rich colors. This resolution is 1.6 times higher than the most common resolution for 5-inch displays, which is 800 x 480. Also, comparing to TN displays, the IPS display on the reTerminal offers better viewing angles as well!
reTerminal has security features such as a cryptographic co-processor with secure hardware-based key storage. It also has protected storage for up to 16 keys, certificates, or data. It provides hardware support for symmetric sign, verify, key agreement – ECDSA. It has hardware support for symmetric algorithms, networking key management and secure boot.

from order viewProduct arrived fast, on time, well packaged. Been burning it in for two weeks, tested it as a Pi-Hole, OpenVPN and Wireguard server. Run TCP/IP over LORA and connected at distance using ZerTier. Planning in using it as an OpenHab server next. Does what it says on the tin. Happy with it.
Only issue is the product NEEDS a simple power pack expansion AND a breakout for the expansion connector to allow for experimentation.
from order viewI received my reTerminal in a very reasonable amount of time considering how scarce Raspberry Pi devices are right now. Packaging was great, the device looks as good in person as I hoped it would.
I was able to quickly power it up and play with the onboard sensors using the included program. The screen is fabulous and the touchscreen is a welcome upgrade from cheap resistive touchscreens. I was able to operate the OS with my finger easily.
The documentation was adequate, I had to dig around a bit to find what I wanted but did find it.
I wish it had come with Bullseye installed. Node-RED would not install on it without forcing it to revert to older components. So I flashed the OS to Bullseye.
Upgrading the OS was a bit of a challenge, starting with getting the reTerminal open to access the boot switch. Not trivial to pop that back off. Following the instructions I found I was able to get the OS updated and things went pretty smoothly overall. Not as easy as upgrading a normal Pi, but I did get the job done and Node-RED installed just fine.
Overall I love this product. Self contained Pi with a great screen!
