IOT202 | Building Compliant, Secure Connected Products with Demo Badge for AWS IoT at AWS re:Invent

Another please-do-not-miss-out workshop at the upcoming AWS re:Invent: the IOT202 Connected Products Workshop, where you’ll delve into hands-on learning with a purpose-built practice kit: Demo Badge for AWS IoT. Led by Andrzej Mizerkiewicz and Thomas Kriechbaumer, this workshop explores various AWS IoT connectivity capabilities, including MQTT, Matter, and Amazon Sidewalk. Gain practical insights into the free-to-connect Amazon Sidewalk network using Bluetooth Low Energy and compare it with MQTT connectivity over Wi-Fi on AWS IoT ExpressLink. You can also explore diverse use cases, such as over-the-air updates, location tracking, sensor data ingestion, digital twins, and shadows.

As the AWS re:Invent is just around the corner, apart from the 2 workshops that we’ve wrote about (Asset Tracking Workshop with Wio Tracker 1110 Dev Kit, Generative AI & AWS IoT Robot Workshop with XIAO ESP32S3 Sense), we’d love to give a big shout-out to another amazing workshop (you can also click here to explore all 45 IoT and Robotics sessions at re:Invent here).

Welcome to the IOT202 Connected Products Workshop, your gateway to building compliant and secure connected products with AWS IoT. In this hands-on workshop, explore the simplicity of activating secure IoT connectivity on your products and managing them efficiently with various AWS IoT services.

AWS re:Invent poster for Demo Badge

Attendees will receive a special “Demo Badge for AWS IoT” a connected product learning platform, packed with multiple cool peripherals. Seeed Studio is proud to offer our Fusion one-stop manufacturing services to the AWS IoT team to bring this badge to life (you can also pre-order one directly on our web store now). The Demo Badge for AWS IoT is an IoT educational learning platform that showcases a fully integrated connected product. It demonstrates how various types of products, such as toys, kitchen appliances, and vacuum robots, can utilize similar architecture with a central microcontroller connecting buttons, LEDs, a display, and a connectivity module. The main components of the Badge are clearly labeled, and during the workshop, you will have hands-on interaction with the badge, exploring its software, button functionality, LED animations, display rendering, and sensor manipulation. This badge will provide a unique opportunity to get hands-on with AWS IoT services, learning about secure connectivity, device management, and advanced use cases. You will build a connected product that can communicate not only via MQTT, Matter, but also leverage the power of Amazon Sidewalk.
