Empowering Young Minds: TinyML Workshop at Sobhana Public School

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer limited to research labs—it’s now accessible to school students, enabling them to explore machine learning on tiny devices! As part of the Seeed Ranger Program, a TinyML workshop was conducted at Sobhana Public School, Ernakulam, introducing students to the exciting world of embedded AI and edge computing.

Bringing AI to the Classroom

On February 21, 2025, 34 students and some teachers participated in an interactive workshop that explored how TinyML is transforming industries like IoT, healthcare, and environmental monitoring. With the help of Seeed Studio hardware and the SenseCraft AI platform, students discovered how AI models can be built and deployed with ease.

Key Highlights of the Workshop

Understanding TinyML – Learning how AI can run on low-power, compact devices

Hands-on with Seeed Studio Hardware – Students worked with:

  • XIAO ESP32S3 Sense – A powerful development board for edge AI applications.
  • Grove Vision AI V2 Module – Enabling real-time vision-based AI solutions.
  • Building AI Models with SenseCraft – A beginner-friendly platform that makes AI accessible to all.

Engaging Discussions and Positive Feedback

The workshop sparked curiosity, leading to discussions on:
Deploying AI models on constrained hardware
Challenges and solutions in real-world ML applications
The future of AI in IoT, automation, and robotics

Feedback from attendees was highly positive, with students expressing great enthusiasm for learning more about TinyML and AI technologies. Many participants showed interest in advanced workshops for in-depth exploration of TinyML applications. Additionally, the teachers were highly interested in the workshop and requested a more detailed session to be conducted after their public exams are over and also showed interest on a bootcamp session on TinyML and AI. The event successfully demonstrated how AI is no longer out of reach—even school students can build intelligent applications!

Conclusion

The TinyML Workshop at Sobhana Public School was an inspiring step toward making AI education accessible to young learners. With platforms like SenseCraft and innovative Seeed Studio hardware, students are now equipped to explore AI and bring their ideas to life.
