Exactly as expected. It definitely runs hot as reported by most reviews (quite warm just booting up and sitting for a minute). definitely recommend a heat sink if you are going to run it at full load for several minutes at a time, or a fan if you are going to run it at full load for longer.

At first I thought that the Pi4B would not boot. I then saw four raspberry icons on the screen - rest of screen dim. I plugged in a 2.5 amp supply to screen, leaving the Pi4b supplied by a 3 amp supply. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

A very significant improvement over the Pi 3 model. Having read about the processor heat issues I get an ICE Tower CPU Cooling Fan and have not encountered any overheating issues, despite running the system for several hours continuously.

This is an excellent device and is the fourth Pi I've had over the years. This one acts as a Kodi player for the frankly insane number of movies we've collected over the years. My previous media player couldn't handle 4K but this Pi does it and does it well.

There is a heck of a lot of heat put out when it does play a 2 hour 4K movie, and the heatsink goes some way to abating this, but not enough for my liking unfortunately.

As for the OS support, I am using Arch Linux ARM in headless setup. After upgrading all packages using a Pi 3 (pacman -Syu), I popped the microSD into this and it just worked.

This new Raspberry Pi 4 is the best yet. Speed is amazing. Videos play with VLC just fine; no pauses. I had downloaded the new Raspbian operating system and installed it on an old micro SDHC card a few days ago and it booted right up. The Chromium browser is fast, and LibreOffice works fine. Recommended.

A credit card-sized powerful computer; who would've believed it? And an amazingly low price. Wow! OK, so I have a soft spot for geek-nerd stuff and have been involved with computers/programming since the '60s but when I looked at this single board computer I had to laugh (it was that "cute"). It booted up fine and I'm looking forward to having some fun with it.

I installed the Buster (Debian 10) version of Raspbian and it is clear that those claiming desktop/laptop performance are correct. The machine is noticeably more responsive than my pi 3b systems and I would say the 4b is definitely an attractive way to get excellent performance for a modest price.

I work in an IT-related field all day and don't feel like messing with computers when I get home. Our Windows desktop is used so infrequently that whenever we do turn it on, it spends an hour downloading and applying updates. That just makes it worse! So I want something that will turn on quickly, allow me to browse the web, do some light text editing, and check my webmail. The Raspberry Pi 3 was passable, but I had to limit my activity to one one browser tab and one other application. But the new Pi 4 is way better! I can have webmail, the company portal, and YouTube running at the same time in the browser (YouTube is a bit jittery but I use it for background noise mainly), have the File Manager open, and have gVim up editing multiple documents. It's not blazing fast, but everything works well and is responsive. Plus, with a fan, the temp hasn't breached 60 degrees, nor has the processor maxed out for an extended period (usually below 60%). This little guy will definitely be my main home PC for the foreseeable future!

Super easy and works great with Buster distro. Easily capable of running 2-4 concurrent streams of Plex media with no lag or issues. Set up a Minecraft server running too and it has absolutely no issues doing so. Highly recommend.

The Raspberry Pi 4 is a noticeable performance boost over Raspberry Pi 3; I use it as an alternative desktop. I use a 128GB SDcard (format to FAT and installs NOOBS onto it). The standard OS installation includes development software and the Chromium browser. I Previously, I used Pi 3 as a desktop computer but felt severely constrained re web pages and apps. Pi 4 is a great upgrade.

This is an absolutely amazing system. I was able to get this running in a matter of minutes. The performance is really good. I set up SMB and Node on this and it works really well as a server,This can almost be a replacement for an entire desktop. It’s sufficient enough for browsing the web and checking email.

Great product at a very decent price. Delivery was fast, and upon powering up, the device works just as expected. Pi 4 has slight heating issues which can lead to performance throttling, which is why I would suggest getting a good heatsink too if the device will be used for anything more intensive.
