Our ePaper family is growing again, and it’s thanks to your feedback, ideas, and support. Over time, we’ve received a lot of thoughtful feedback from our community: more GPIOs for sensors and actuators, smaller boards for embedded projects, and more flexible options for low-power ePaper builds. We’ve been listening carefully, and we’re excited to turn that feedback into something real. Introducing the newest additions to the XIAO ePaper family: XIAO ePaper DIY Kit EE05 and EN05.
Meet XIAO ePaper DIY Kit EE05 & EN05
Designed for more flexible and creative ePaper builds, EE05 and EN05 make it easier to bring your ideas to life. Powered by XIAO ESP32-S3 Plus and XIAO nRF52840 Plus, both boards support 24-pin ePaper displays, giving you more freedom to create display projects in different sizes and formats. To make interaction easier, they also feature three user buttons, following the design language of the XIAO ePaper family. Just plug in a compatible display, power it on, and start building right away.

So, what makes this new board different in the XIAO ePaper family?
Simple: it’s smaller, smarter, and far more flexible.
Measuring only 27 × 52 mm, it’s much smaller than the usual 44 × 81 mm driver boards in our epaper family—and compact enough to tuck neatly behind a 2.13-inch ePaper display. Less board showing, more design freedom.
And let’s talk about GPIOs. If you’ve ever had to scale back an idea because your ePaper board didn’t leave enough room for extra sensors, you’re not alone. That’s exactly why this new board comes with extension IO, so you can build beyond the screen and add more interactive features to your project.
