01. Miniature ChatGPT Voice Assistant based on XIAO ESP32S3

We are pleased to bring you today a brand new project using the XIAO ESP32S3 Sense and Round Display for XIAO! The project aims to first build a speech recognition system using the XIAO ESP32S3 Sense’s microphone and Google Cloud’s speech-to-text service. The recognized speech text is then used to call OpenAI’s interface to ask questions to ChatGPT and return answers. Finally, we display the recognised speech and the content of the answers on screen.

01. Water Quality Monitor with Blues by Justin Lutz



In summer, Justin Lutz’s nearby pond suffers from frequent algal blooms due to rising temperatures and nutrient runoff from lawns and septic systems. The toxic algal blooms (also called cyanobacteria or blue-green algae) can be harmful to both humans and animals alike.

To tackle this problem, Justin developed a monitoring system with the Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040 to gather data to establish a baseline for the water conditions. Read the full project today.


02. AI-driven LoRaWAN Fertilizer Pollution Detector w/ WhatsApp by Kutluhan Aktar



As the global population grows and fertile lands decline, farmers rely on organic and chemical fertilizers to boost crop yields. However, this approach results in soil contamination. While chemical fertilizers are essential for maintaining soil fertility and preventing food shortages, their improper use can be detrimental if soil test reports are ignored. Learn about Aktar’s project here.


03. From Light to Insight: EdgeML powered by Indoor Solar Cells


 Traditional battery-powered IoT devices have to be charged or replaced frequently, making them unreliable and costly in the long run. Fortunately, there is an alternative: indoor solar cells. By harvesting light indoors, these cells can provide energy indefinitely – eliminating the need for constant battery replacements and enabling a new era of self-sustaining edge computing applications. Learn more.


04. LoRa powered solar PV monitoring system with Blues &Qubitro by Pradeep

LoRa, an emerging wireless network solution in the realm of IoT, offers a low-power and wide-area network with extended transmission capabilities. In this project, Pradeep Thiruna demonstrated the construction of a solar power monitoring system, powered by LoRa and facilitated by cellular IoT technology.

05. How to Run a ChatGPT-Like LLM on NVIDIA Jetson board

Shakhizat Nurgaliyev shared “How to Run a ChatGPT-Like LLM on NVIDIA Embedded Jetson board”. The hardware diagram outlined includes the Seeed ReSpeaker USB Mic array, a SBC like the NVIDIA Jetson, and Bluetooth speaker. By running a ChatGPT-like language model on the Nvidia Jetson board, you can benefit from reduced network latency, increased privacy, and the ability to use the model in resource-constrained environments without relying on an internet connection.
