In the realm of smart technology, the mmWave sensor has emerged as a versatile and indispensable player. With applications spanning Smart Home Automation, Building Security, Healthcare Monitoring and Elderly Care, these sensor solutions have significantly elevated the way we interact with our environments. However, achieving a seamless integration between hardware and software can sometimes pose challenges. Recognizing these obstacles, we are dedicated to listening to your feedback and taking meaningful actions to enhance your experience.
Throughout recent months, we have been diligently focused on refining the mmWave sensors experience, resulting in the implementation of several improvements:
- Inclusion of a Dupont jumper wire within the mmWave radar package, eliminating the need for developers to source them separately, saving them time and effort. Click here for more details
- Updates to the firmware, ensuring that your sensors consistently perform at their best. Click here for more details
Introducing the mmWave Human Detection Sensor Kit
Our ready-to-use, open-source mmWave Human Detection Sensor Kit is driven by the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3. This kit comes with an onboard 24GHz mmWave Human Static Presence Module Lite, which can be swapped out for any mmWave series sensor from Seeed. Additionally, we’ve provided two reserved Grove interfaces (Analog, IIC) that enable connectivity with over 400 different Grove modules, expanding the kit’s capabilities extensively.
This kit allows wireless software updates via Over-The-Air(OTA). Users can upgrade with a simple click on the mobile or computer, eliminating the need for physical connections.
🚀But here’s the real kicker: We’ve introduced a No-Code approach to set up your Home Assistant which involves only a few easy steps, completing installation in 1 to 2 minutes without any coding complexities.
Here’s the process:
- Power up the mmWave Kit
- Connect to the kit’s network
- Access the backend at 192.168.4.1
- Connect to your LAN
- Add the kit to Home Assistant
- Add and customize the dashboard

We recognize that not everyone possesses coding expertise, so this no-code setup approach aims to sidestep the complexities of coding, enabling even those with minimal technical background to seamlessly integrate their mmWave sensors with Home Assistant.
Seeed Studio places immense value on customer feedback. We grasp the ever-changing requirements and anticipations of our customers, and our dedication lies in modifying and enhancing our products to align with these dynamics. Through prioritizing upgrades and the introduction of new products, we are dedicated to craft a future where technology seamlessly integrates into your daily life.
